We are group of highly motivated people that likes to develop and think new ways to study the uniqueness of electrochemical interfaces to understand problems in the chemical sensing, energy storage and conversion fields.

Cesar

Cesar is originally from Ciudad Juárez, a city in Mexico that shares a border with the United States. He attended Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, where he earned his B.S. in Chemistry. As an undergraduate, he conducted research in electrochemistry. He then joined Professor Cynthia Zoski's research group at New Mexico State University to pursue his Ph.D., studying single-nanoparticle electrochemistry. During his Ph.D., he moved to The University of Texas at Austin following Professor Zoski's appointment there. During his time at UT Austin, he developed a strong foundation in electrochemistry and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM).

After earning his Ph.D., he joined Professor Robert Hamers' research group at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he gained experience in chemical instrumentation and collaborated with industry through a project with Orbia focused on lithium-ion batteries.

In Fall 2024, he joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Eastern Illinois University, where he has been working to introduce nanoelectrochemistry to undergraduate and graduate students.
